I'm a serial media and technology entrepreneur. I produce cartoons and brand media networks; back in the day I made jazz and blues records. I founded FredFilms in 2020, and Frederator Studios in 1998, producing hits like "Adventure Time," "The Fairly OddParents" and "Castlevania," for MAX/Cartoon Network, Paramount+/Nickelodeon and Netflix. In tech, I was the first investor and board member at Tumblr (acquired by Yahoo!), founded Next New Networks (acquired by YouTube), and was the seed investor in MuckRack.As co-founder and original creative director of MTV, I developed network branding and the unforgettable “I Want My MTV!” campaign. My partner Alan Goodman and I architected the original Nickelodeon branding.
