About Fernando Sánchez López

I am currently looking for an internship or job that gives me the opportunity to be able to continue exploring my talents and further my master on the skills that I have learnt throughout the years since my interest of coding first started. I envision myself working in an environment that both tests and allows me t showcase my knowledge, while also learning and expanding my skillset. I am convinced my brain synapses are not chemical and electrical based but more 1's and 0's based. It's true! Ever since I got memory, I have been curious and inquisitive to know how is that objects, machinery, artifacts, among other things, work. I will get close to the TV and see those Red, Green, Blue and would be fascinated and even tried to count them all (disclaimer: I would get tired after the first 10).As I grew up, that curiosity grew with me as well. When I was 10, I got my first laptop thanks to my grandfather and I was ecstatic. I remember turning it on and started typing, I was fascinated and a bunch of questions came to mind. How does this works? How does the cursor moves as I use my mouse? How is it that what I am writing appears as the same time in the computer? I started getting this answers by exploring the computer, by doing a web search, and by experimenting.Since then, I knew my calling was coding and programming. So I took my first class and it has all been fully coding, programming, problem solving, and thinking creatively for me. I have definitely been involved in other activities, such as Student Government and Volunteering as a teacher and assisting neighbors in my community with their tech needs, but all my thinking involves coding, or at least, what coding and programming have taught me.I see the world as a series of decisions of we take, a bunch of while loops, for loops, and conditions we set for ourselves to continue or break the rules. Variable that we declare, or new functions that we create to advance and increment our efficiency and be able to achieve our goals and dreams.Flash-forward to know, I am a Computer Engineering student in San Jose State University, a school located in the heart of Silicon Valley. A dream come true. My 10 year old self back in Mexico had this dream, and I am making sure I achieve it so he and I can be proud of ourselves. I am thrilled of what I can offer from all my knowledge as a immigrant, first generation student, that is proud of its heritage, but also as the person who has formed a solid set of skill set ready to thrive in the workforce and make the company he works for excel.
