The NLR has been accredited by EASA to perform work as Qualified Entity. As SET Chair and FSTD Flight Inspector I represent EASA during initial qualification and continued qualifications of FSTDs for FSTD operators outside the EU seeking an EASA FSTD certificate.

The B25 'Mitchell' is the largest aircraft in active flying duty within the Royal Dutch Air Force Historical Flight. The RDAF Historical flight consist of a huge group of technical staff and pilots. Taking care Illustrious aircraft like the Super Marine Spitfire; Harvard; Fokker S11; Ryan; DHC 3 Beaver; Pa 18; Beechcraft D18 and the B25 'Mitchell' can still be seen in the environment where they flourish most. With a team of about 40 technicians and 9 pilots, forming part of the bigger family of the RDAF Historical Flight, we keep this aircraft in active flying service providing memorial flights and giving flight displays to commemorate the legacy of this proud 2nd World War Bomber. I am proud to be part of the team. In my role as Training Coordinator and Co-Pilot I am responsible for coordinating all required training on the aircraft to assure availability of qualified pilots assuring a continuous and safe operation.

Bearing a shared responsibility, together with a team of technical simulator professionals, for the specification, acceptance and certification of Full Flight Level D ZFT FSTDs within our company.

As an incident investigator I conducted multiple investigations into incidents in aviation industry. Reports were composed with recommendations to ever improve operational safety within our industry. I am a firm believer in a just culture in which professionals do not have to fear prosecution as long as no gross negligence or willfulness are the root cause of the incident/accident. In such an environment professionals dare to report honest mistakes which will result in a further improvement of overal safety. I am deeply concerned with respect to the influence of the media and the juridical system on the real world. I am convinced they have a significant negative effect on safety. Not only in aviation but for all disciplines where professionals are doing there utmost to do there jobs flawless. Flawless operation though is Utopia. (only consider the honest mistakes that are made in court rooms and newsrooms every day). 100% safety is something to aim for. I am a proponent to start constructive discussion with the media and juridical system how we can work together to approach the 100% as close as feasible. Let's go for an even safer future.

As Chief Pilot B747-400 I facilitate the KLM 747 pilots to do their responsible job, well trained, using top quality aircraft, providing a safe , customer friendly, punctual, reliable and environmental responsible operation. I consider it a privilege to work with highly qualified professionals within our company every day again.

Assist LMCFT with the specification, production and preparation for qualificationn of FSTDs over the full range from FNPT II, through FTDs to FFS Level D ZFT devices. I have been working in this area for over 15 years both on the customers side as wel as on the manufacturers side.

Train pilots to become type rated pilots on the B737 series as well as training pilots to become instructors (TRI) or examiners (TRE) on the B737 series aircraft.Support airlines with pilots who have problems with making landings in a consistant way. More pilots that you might realize perform landings in a mechanical way. In most cases this will result in a safe landing. Pilots landing performance can significantly be improved when receiving the correct training.

Coach/Train pilots who are confronted with a stagnation in there career, often caused by an incorrect self esteem combined with unrealistic expectations with respect to there level of performance.

Together with a team of technical specialists I have been responsible for the specification of the KLM B767 aircraft, the acceptance (Ground and flight testing) and deliverance to KLM of 10 aircraft from the Boeing Everett facility in the state of Washington. In the role of Engineering Pilot I also provided support to the KLM technical staff during technical dispatch, discussing technical issues with B767s in the field and aircraft evaluation during post maintenance test flights.
