Owned and operated my own recruiting business as an affiliate of MRINetwork. Specialized in Engineering and related technical positions. Our clients included both manufacturing companies and consulting engineering firms.

I performed the duties of general manager for this 30 person engineering firm. Reported directly to Board of Directors. Responsible for all financial, accounting, marketing, staffing, and overall operations of multi-office firm. Also performed own project work.

Great transition from Manufacturing to Consulting Engineering. I was able to leverage my knowledge and experience from manufacturing to leading a multi-discipline team of up to 12+ consulting engineers, architects, and technicians in the delivery of engineering services. Managed a 100+ team of production and maintenance folks in the start-up of new high tech. plastic molding and assembly of new CrossAction toothbrush. Helped implement self-direct teams, assisted engineering in equipment runoffs and debug, while also achieving demanding daily production goals.

I recruited and staffed a manufacturing engineering team of eleven. Supported five operating divisions with a decentralized engineering team. Team was responsible for engineering cost savings projects and engineering support of manufacturing operations in plastics molding plants.

Family motivated move from Detroit back to Iowa City. We had a 2 y/o son, and a daughter on the way and family was all back in Iowa. My wonderful (6 month pregnant) wife found a job as a Cardiovascular PA back in Iowa and away we went. I also took this opportunity to be a stay at home dad with the kids, then started my journey as a full-time MBA student at the University of Iowa.

Grew up a car nut in the middle of Iowa, helping my father build and race drag cars as a hobby. Gladly accepted job and moved from Iowa to Michigan to start a career in this exciting industry (even though GM was a bad word in my father's Mopar house, ha!) My jobs included facilities engineer, maintenance supervisor, and manufacturing engineer. Most of the time in car assembly and engine machining plants. A highlight of my career at GM was being part of a team that implemented the "new" Northstar Cadillac V8 engine. I was responsible as a Project Engineer to specify, procure, and implement a large portion of a $60M state of the art Aluminum Cylinder Head machining line.
