The competition challenge is meant to provide real and inspiring solutions to the land-use questions that face the City of Richmond. Our current development decisions put into play a series of events that dictate the future environmental, social, and economic course of a property for generations to come and far beyond the immediate development impacts and aspires to change the way we look at development. It is a place that looks to the future and aims to provide the support necessary to achieve carbon neutrality on a community scale.

2 City Studio is a group of Professionals that have teamed to change the landscape for cultural and institutional clients. We are a very nimble group of four with lots of experience in the educational and cultural market. We bring that experience to our clients with low overhead, high service, sustainable guiding principals, and empathy (something in short supply in the philosopher-architect-god model).2City Studio is not about creating an icon but about creating superior learning, teaching and working spaces.

Full Scale focuses on bringing green technologies and ideas to small projects. Starting with a belief in the democracy of materials, lots of intellectual curiosity, an abiding humility toward our place in the world, and an optimism that we can do good work, we strive to create building environments that will be instructive about their place and how they work. And we fully expect that they will be contributors – socially, environmentally and ecologically – to the communities in which they are built.

Monthly Sustainable Design and Living Educational and Networking Organization

Co-Chair with Michael Pellis, AIA until September, 2009. Michael is now moving forward as the Chair and forming a direct link with the AIA RIchmond through his Board position there. I am now serving as member of the Steering Committee to support COTE with several other local sustainable professionals.

Currently I'm Chair of the Green Spaces Committee. The founding Board members finally rolled off after 5 years to let some new folks make the JRGBC even better.

The Daily Planet is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 charitable organization founded in 1969 and a leading provider of services to the Greater Richmond homeless population. The Planet serves as part of Homeward’s Greater Richmond Continuum of Care and provides a wide scope of health and human welfare services to the urban poor and homeless population. The Planet operates the only free standing health care center in the area providing primary health care to the homeless, uninsured and underinsured regardless of their ability to pay. Additionally, Daily Planet provides a 12-week job training and placement program to the unemployed homeless and offers at no charge to those in need: eye care, dental care, mental health and psychiatric care, laundry and shower facilities, case management, mail and substance abuse services.
