About Fulvio Risso

Fulvio Risso (born in 1971) is Associate Professor at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering in 1995 and the Ph.D. in Computer and System Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 2000.He is author of several papers on Quality of Service, Network Monitoring, IPv6, and Network Processing.Dr. Risso started several software projects including WinPcap, the de-facto standard library for network analysis tools under the Windows platform, and NetBee, a new packet processing library that includes an innovative hardware abstraction (the NetVM) and a protocol description language (NetPDL).Recent activities focus on high-speed and flexible network processing, particularly with respect to dynamic, efficient and safe code generation, massive multicore and GPU architectures.Specialties: High speed and flexible network processing.
