All I ever wanted to be was beautiful. From a very young age I was aware of the privilege that beauty afforded, and becoming a model had been my dream since the days of MODE magazine and Kate Dillon's curvy comeback. Landing a contract with the largest agency in the world was supposed to fix everything that was wrong with my life. But it didn't fix anything, and four years in I was still drowning. So, in a very Cersei-esque fashion, I blew my modeling career all to Hades.I found myself at a crossroads, and I did what any military kid would do. I took the path less traveled and started over. What followed were three years of freedom; work and play not bound by the rules I had always lived by. I discovered that I had value beyond what someone was willing to pay for my face and body. I fell in love. And for the first time in my life, I put down roots. Then came Functional Girl, the happy accident born of the idea that I had become more than just a pretty face. I was a newly-minted Texan and I had no idea what I was going to do with myself, but I had seen enough of the world to know there was a lot of work to be done. One day at a party I met a local magazine editor and pitched her on the idea of a lifestyle advice column, a month later 'Dear Functional Girl' premiered. With the popularity of the column came speaking engagements and workshop opportunities, on-air segments and requests for closet interventions, style makeovers, DIY decor rescues, photography and more.If someone had told my 15-year-old self, that grown me would much rather be charming and smart and kind and brave and impactful and funny and so many things other than beautiful, I would have told them to check their dosage. But here I am, the oldest I’ve ever been - ancient for a model - and the happiest I’ve ever been, fulfilled by work that is continuously evolving through passion and purpose, trusting the adventure and enjoying the spectacular ride.

OwnerHoneydo Virtual Jan 2014 - PresentAustin, Tx, UsIf ever there was a perfect gig for a generalist who suffers from wanderlust, it's virtual assisting. Since 2014 I've supported leaders, entrepreneurs, executives and creatives in scaling, not only their businesses, but their possibilities. As a virtual assistant & consultant I provide administrative, operational, technical and creative support to a diverse clientele ranging from startup founders and authors, to college football recruiters and DEI Facilitators. My services range from general admin (scheduling) to specialized (copywriting/editing) to consulting functions (fractional leadership & training). I offer packages for ongoing support, but will just as enthusiastically take on your one-off projects.I love this work for many reasons: I can do it from anywhere I have an internet connection (hello beach!), my schedule is my own, the clients are unique and supporting them allows me to continuously learn and grow -- but at the end of the day, I love helping people chase their greatness and getting a front row seat to their victories is pretty spectacular. -
PhotographerFemme Fotó Feb 2015 - PresentI’ve been a student of aesthetics my entire life, first in front of the camera as an Elite model and now behind as a photographer. I love faces now even more than I did when I first picked up a camera my sophomore year of high school in Mr. Meyers photography class. Every magical freckle, every telling line make each face a one-of-a-kind work of art. I started Femme Fotó because I noticed many portrait photographers were taking their cues from the fashion industry and digitally altering their clients in the name of “improving” them. If you take nothing else away from your experience with me, I want you to know this: You are exquisite just the way you are and anyone who tries to tell you different can peddle that tripe elsewhere. I don’t want to make you look thinner or younger, I don’t want to make your nose look smaller or your lips look fuller. You are not a mistake and I want to discover, capture and honor every smile so perfectly wrong that it’s absolutely right.

Chief Of Staff & Special ProjectsLean Startup Co. Dec 2017 - Apr 2020San Francisco, California, UsMy journey into the world of startups was one of the happiest accidents in my life. Early on my CEO recognized I possess the diverse superpowers of Clan Generalist, and within a nine months of joining the tribe had given me the opportunity to evolve from a part-time Event Producer into her Chief of Staff.Whether I was supporting our international licensing partner, project managing strategy work, developing materials & messaging for stakeholders, prepping presentations for board meetings, coordinating VIP schedules at events, facilitating work sessions, collaborating with legal on contractual language or bestowing magnificent nicknames on my fellow team members -- I was challenged to learn and grow daily; and it was a privilege to work (and play) with such a smart, savvy, passionate group of human beings.Last, but certainly not least: There is a time limit on team calls for individual sharing known as the "Legare Limit"... I think I'm most proud of that. -
