Funk It is a woman-owned company that believes in strength through being yourself.I'm Amanda. A former teacher who promotes the importance of work life balance for a healthy mind and healthy outlook on life. I am the creator of Funk It. I am not a professional dancer. I am not a dance instructor. I am just somebody who loves to dance, whatever those moves might look like. I wanted somewhere to dance that didn't mean late nights, no-show taxis, crowded dance floors and drunks. I find it difficult to follow routines and have therefore avoided organised dance classes like the plague. I have always wanted somewhere that allows me to dance however I like, sing at the top of my voice and make the most ridiculous dance faces I can possibly pull! That's why I set up Funk It. I wanted to create a safe and sociable space for like-minded people to stay healthy, have fun and feel like nothing in the world matters except the music, the dance floor and that moment. I want people to feel encouraged, not put off. If you want to practise the jive, have a shuffle, spin around in a space that doesn't judge, then Funk It is for you. Come and witness me tripping over my own feet and realise that others' opinions really don't matter at all. We're all in it together. In a post-pandemic world, let's make kitchen disco sociable again.
