During pre-launch and early operations of Macy’s e-commerce store on Alibaba's Tmall Global, I negotiated contracts with external parties and drove improvements in marketing and merchandising. For a year, I travelled to Hangzhou weekly to facilitate discussions with Alibaba units and visited Shenzhen regularly to manage our e-commerce trade partner and marketing agency.

Beijing City, China

I oversaw stakeholder engagement initiatives, building Rolls-Royce's relationships with industry associations in the aviation and marine sectors. To deepen the media's understanding of Rolls-Royce technologies, I coordinated regular briefings for media editors from both Chinese and international press. These resulted in coverage and executive features in leading media outlets. I managed a large-scale corporate sponsorship of the London Symphony Orchestra tour to China and organized corporate events at the Shanghai World Expo, Zhuhai Air Show and Marintec (the marine trade show in Shanghai).

Beijing City, China

I managed an 8-person team in tackling stakeholder communication with environmental NGOs and the media, on behalf of an Asian pulp and paper conglomerate which was seeking regulatory clearance for an IPO in Shanghai. I also interviewed industry experts and wrote a market entry feasibility study analyzing China's natural resources regulations for a Latin American copper group.

Hong Kong

I provided strategic advice at the C-suite level to blue-chip companies and government agencies on public affairs, market intelligence, and stakeholder management. Our clients included Asia's leading companies in aviation, electricity generation, gas utility, healthcare, and food processing. I conducted research, led workshops, and emcee'd at conference sessions, in projects commissioned by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Logistics Development Council (LogsCouncil). In this role, I also chaired the Trade and Investment Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Hong Kong, and was a member of the Asia and Africa Committee at the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC).
