Managed an additional 20 engineers, meteorologists and mechanical technicians responsible for all CSBF launch operational activities (including support aircraft activities) and mechanical systems. The included operation and maintenance of mechanical flight systems along with development of new systems (responsibilities included: oversight of ~$ 5M NASA campaign support budget, development and implementation of yearly NASA flight program, and oversight of all campaign activities).• Managed engineers and technicians (~ 25 people) responsible for all CSBF electronic systems including both flight and ground station systems. This included operation and maintenance of both conventional and long duration systems along with development of new systems (responsibilities included: oversight of ~$300K institutional budget, development and implementation of yearly NASA engineering plan projects, oversight of all operational issues including LDB control center operations, flight system reviews, and campaign management activities as required).• Deputy Site Manager activities included management of CSBF during the absence of the Site Manager along with lead roles in discussions and issues involving NASA balloon program management.

Campaign Management Activities: Served as manager for several scientific campaigns in North and South America including the first circumnavigation, long-duration flight in the northern hemisphere which was controlled via satellite from Palestine, TX (responsibilities included: conducting flight planning and requirements meetings with scientists and launch crew, supervising and coordinating the efforts of 10 to 20 professional and non-professional personnel, and communicating status of in-field flight operations with NASA and NSBF management).Program Management Activities: Managed team of multi-disciplined engineers and technicians for major NASA R&D test flight projects at multiple locations in North America (responsibilities included: supervising/coordinating all work associated with the project, pre-flight testing of systems to be flown, proposing budgets- ~$500K per flight, conducting Mission Readiness Reviews, and documenting the efforts including development plans and test flight results).
