Building Human-AI interaction at Sailplane.

There is a tendency in scientific computing to create a “compiler for every problem” . Every such effort erects its own towers of symbolic and numerical capabilities. My thesis project, Symbolics.jl is a symbolic programming library that also emits efficiently executable numerical code to help researchers build DSLs in various scientific simulation disciplines.

Lead on JuliaDB – a distributed, out-of-core analytical database, competed with Spark, kdb, pandas.- Developed at all levels – indexed tables, serialization, compression, distributed out-of-core scheduling, text parser-compilers- Worked with NPCI, India’s state-run UPI payment gateway on a fraud detection system

Worked for the Julia Lab on various projects helping lay groundwork for the Julia language ecosystem, its pedagogy, and packages related to UI and modern web development.

I built Reactive.jl and Interact.jl and brought the @manipulate to IJulia notebooks.Mentor: Daniel C Jones

Experimented with various image filters to identify bloodvessels in retinal images.

Implemented the Common Alerting Protocol broker onSahana Eden, a Python groupware. Mentor: Francis Boon

Authored a plugin to provide location-aware featuresto StatusNet social network. Mentor: James Walker

Developed a feature to categorize subscriptions in afederated system of StatusNet servers. Mentor: Zach Copley
