Assisting with the newly acquired KeyTrak application - developing the key access security and accountablity application into a dynamic product earmarked for the car dealership to account for key use and customer relation management data recovery. KeyTrak grew to be highly competitive and often copied. The application matured to be used in jails, institutions, apartment complexes, maintenance and fleet operations where keys and key access is integral to security.Dega Technology (DTI) developed a cutting edge application for Texas Instruments, now HP. The product was the first to apply hyperlinks to images and text offering an active electronic part catalog. The industry at the time had what was called paper on glass; an expanded version of micro fiche. COIN's development of DTI code introduced a new technology adhereing to an enviromental protection agency (EPA) directive to reduce the use of print on paper for maintenance publications. This application changed the way fleet services, maintenance and service facilities in auto dealerships as well non-automotive industries managed tech specs. Publications like R.L.Polk, YellowBook followed with relational data base technology developing their own version of data search on disk. Trane, HVAC used the COIN/DTI appliction to develop a proprietary version called CATS. This application was used by HVAC technicians in the field using a laptop devise to identify components, verify parts and corresponding numbers and submit image and part request remotely to a support center for part fulfillment needed at the job site. John Deere used the original product developed by DTI for Texas Instruments/Ford and acquired from TI when HP bought that division. Lengthy software licensing litigation challenging licensing rights ultimately went to HP. COIN/DTI technology was sold to Bell + Howell.
