A quick life update! This last July, I moved to Boston, MA, and couldn’t be happier in this place! The east coast is full of new and beautiful places that I’m so excited to explore.Even more exciting news… I'm thrilled to announce that I've accepted a position with the Sustainable Business Network as a Local Food Program Coordinator for the Boston Local Food Program! A huge thanks to Kerry Kokkinogenis for guiding me through the interview process; I’m so excited to be her mentee! I am so excited to start this next chapter of my life in Boston. I look forward to starting my career with the Sustainable Business Network to learn and promote a local economy with local food and products!

I will interact with all facets of the Cal Poly Strawberry Center including but not limited to;agronomy, pathology, entomology, and automation. In this role, I will assist with field maintenance and laboratory-and field-based research under the supervision of the Farm Manager and/or Field Research Manager. I hope to gain knowledge and skills prevalent in the strawberry industry and interact with industry professionals.

As part of the staff, I make customer’s smoothies, manage the cash register, and maintain a clean and friendly environment. I have been in charge of the store while my boss is on vacation, where I run to the store for any stock that we need and manage the money from day-to-day sales.

As part of the team, I ensured the restaurant ran smoothly by seating guests, assigning parties to a waitlist, clearing tables, and running food. The fast-paced and energetic environment paired well with my outgoing and busy lifestyle. This job primarily taught me how to manage time while amidst the bustling college environment.

In this position I managed customer’s money at the till while restocking candy and organizing the store when business was slow therefore I was constantly attending a task. Since we worked with gelato, I am also aware of the food handling procedure.
