About Gabby Wright
My name is Gabby Wright, and I am pleased to introduce myself as the Founder and Head Coach of The Wright Camp Fitness, LLC. In addition, I am the Director for several after school sports programs in Polk County School District. I was born and raised in New Bern, North Carolina, where my passion to compete in basketball developed. I competed as a point guard, shooting guard, and small forward from fifth grade through my second year of college. In total, I coached for 19 years which has afforded me a deeper understanding of basketball and player development. In 2004, I realized that my passion for basketball came equipped with a knack for fun, positive, and successful coaching. I was able to develop a winning team (2nd in Title 1A Conference) as the Head Coach at CM Eppes Middle School in Greenville, North Carolina for two years. I then spent the next 13 years coaching diverse age groups from lower elementary, middle, and high school girls. I was recruited to become the assistant coach for Hoops School, which is directed by former WNBA player Heidi Burge-Horton. This led me to coach my high school athletes at Legacy Charter High School to winning 2nd in the 2A conference title. Overall, I will develop teams to have sound conditioning, basketball IQ, and fundamental dexterity for the game of basketball.
