Representative achievements for TennCare during my tenure include:- Annual medical trends that were one-half the average of Medicaid medical trends nationally- Launched, on time and on budget, the single largest (~$500M) IT system in the history of the state of Tennessee- Drafted and submitted to CMS a first-of-its-kind modified block grant funding model proposal (1115 waiver) that would ensure the long-term fiscal sustainability of TennCare by (i) allowing the state to retain a portion of the budget neutrality savings TennCare drives for the federal government each year and (ii) use those retained savings to cover more Tennesseans - Developed a policy to extend post-partum coverage for women on Medicaid in Tennessee from 60 days to one year- Developed a policy to extend dental benefits to women over the age of 21 during prenatal and postpartum periods- Developed a plan to realize the single largest reduction in Tennessee's history of the waiting list for intellectual and developmental disabilities in a one-year period and a three-year plan to eliminate the waiting list entirely- Developed and submitted to CMS a first-of-its-kind Katie Beckett 1115 waiver proposal that would serve both the traditional Katie Beckett child population and a non-traditional Katie Beckett child and family population through a Medicaid diversion program- A member satisfaction rating of 95% - Enrolling 99% of all Tennessee-licensed providers as TennCare providers- Was elected by Medicaid Directors in other states to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Medicaid Directors- Was named a Fellow with the Medicaid Leadership Institute Show less
