My duties on this project primarily included managing requirements, which includes discussing changes to specifications, making sure upper level requirements flow correctly and are up-to-date with lower level requirements, performing specification exports, tracking changes, and prepping documents for release. In relation to this, I taught myself the software for, then created multiple document export templates for formatting requirement specification and other documents to decrease formatting time by multiple hours per document. In addition, I used MATLAB to generate and run code for calculating lifetime propellant throughput values based on nominal mission data in order to update thruster performance documents and propellant usage in relation to the thruster valves. The Purdue Space Program Solids (PSPS) Project is a second year team competing in the 2019 Spaceport America Cup Competition. PSPS will be competing in the 30,000 foot Student Researched and Designed category. Our team this year will be developing our own motor at Zucrow Laboratories, the first team of undergraduates to do this. As the Business Lead, I manage a team of 4+ to write grant proposals and manage the budget.
