About Gabe Sventek

I started off as a graphic designer, moving my way up in the industry to Art Director at LeadClick. I did everything from print campaigns to web portals and POS displays to convention booths. I entered the Video Game industry in 2004 and have moved from being a generalist, making props and lighting things etc. to a character modeler doing everything from high-poly, normal mapped characters to PS2 ready low-poly models. I have moved further into rigging and technical artistry creating custom rigs with blend shapes and custom controls as well as stretchy rigs. I am also very familiar with numerous engines including Unreal. I like the technical side of things and enjoy R&D as well as pipeline creation and modification.Specialties: 3D modeling and animation with Maya, 3DS Max, Mudbox and Zbrush. Rigging in 3DS Max and Maya of characters including Biped, Quadruped and othersGame Engines such as Unreal Engine, Hero Engine, Vicious Engine, Torque and Paper Vision Illustration, both digital and traditional in many styles with an emphasis on gesture and weight. Animation using Flash, Director, After Effects and traditional cell animation.

    I worked with the folks at Psychic Bunny on a training tool for ARMY personnel to learn effective methods for determining threats in Afghanistan. I created a small town's worth of characters using swappable heads, hands, feet and accessories like sunglasses, hats and shoes. All objects of the same type used the same UV mapping so we could add even more variation.
