As a Bates College alumni, I studied environmental studies anthropology. I believe that environmental studies is more than a major, it is a new way of thinking. I am learning every day how to be a better citizen to nature and to our human interactions with one another on a local and global scale. Currently, I am working with Yahel as a social change fellow based in Lod, Israel.I am presently working with Arab and Israeli children by teaching English in schools, collaborating with non-profit organizations in Lod, and overall working on peaceful efforts of co-existence based on the Israeli-Palestine conflict starting at the grassroots level. Our world is in a disjointed place right now, however, I know that living in a place, advocating with locals, and connecting with my Israeli/Arab neighbors on the ground is essential to creating change.
