Copy editing academic book manuscripts with extreme attention to detail; working closely with authors at various stages of the book production process.

Conducted two discussion-based seminars per semester on the subject of philosophy, including both introductory level classes required for all students at the university and upper-level courses intended for majors only. Assignments varied somewhat from class to class, but mainly consisted of a mixture of weekly, take-home, short-essay style quizzes posted on Blackboard, three to four short (4 page) papers, and one in-class final exam. Evaluation the students' assignments on at least a weekly basis, providing them with comments and urging them to think more about the readings by raising questions. Meeting regularly with students in- and outside the officially designated office hours to go over questions/problems they had and to help them with their writing skills.

Conducted two lecture-seminars--one an introductory philosophy course ("Philosophies of Life"), the other an upper-level course on the major monotheistic religions of the world--Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Responsible for teaching four courses per semester on a variety of subjects in the fields of history, the history of political thought, religion, philosophy and political science. Conducted lectures and led seminars, encouraging active student participation and attempting to ensure good class discussions. Assignments varied from class to class, but in all classes regular, short papers and weekly quizzes on the readings the students had been assigned for homework were mandatory. Met regularly with students who needed my help or sought out clarification on matters.

Responsible for conducting two sections of “The Quest for Justice,” an intensive and fast-paced survey course in political thought. The readings were extensive and weekly quizzes and bi-weekly papers were required. The subject matter provided the opportunity to teach in both the standard classroom manner, as well as in a more individualized, one-on-one setting.

Helped maintain library and kept legal journals and supplements up to date.
