About Gabriel Dagotto, Ph.D.

I make viruses work for people. My research focuses on repurposing viruses (viral vectors) for gene therapy and cancer vaccines. My expertise includes project management, developing and implementing new ideas, and successfully communicating my findings to collaborators and the broader community. I am an adaptable and inventive researcher who is passionate about creating new ideas and applying novel research to address widespread problems plaguing human health. At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic I modified my research on gene therapy and cancer immunotherapy to work on developing the J&J Ad26 SARS-CoV-2 vaccine currently being used throughout the world. I hope to apply my biotechnology expertise to generate novel treatments.

SAGE is successful in part because of the quality of our facilitators who bring knowledge, insight, empathy, and strong inter-personal skills to their work with their peers.SAGE helps students learn how to study science and math, provides extra support for the challenging material, and fosters a collaborative and proactive community of learners. SAGE is currently offered for the introductory biology, chemistry and math courses. Show less
