In my role as an Operations Supervisor, I was in charge of the Alternative Assets for our largest client. There were over 1800 Alternative Assets held. Working with upper management, we built out dashboards using Jira to set up our tracking of the assets, so that we could account for monthly, quarterly, and annual updates as well as any capital calls or distributions.Additionally, I worked alongside the client to build out our QA process to ensure accurate performance reporting which meant identifying missing updates, true variances across investors within the same funds, and variances that required research in order to validate or fix performance.

As a senior analyst, I volunteered to assist with the implementation and transition of our largest client. In this role, I began by doing quality assurance, which required a high level of attention to detail to meet rigorous standards for accurate performance.As my team began to grow, I was moved from QA to reconciliation. With the high complexity and large volume of this client's accounts, this required our team to build new processes to increase efficiency.This involved coming up with new queries, utilizing formulas on existing queries, and trying to automate processes.As responsibilities grew, so did contact with our client. I have daily communication with the client via email and phone. I have been entrusted to lead several client meetings regarding team questions and general expectations.Through this evolving role, I became the dedicated resource for alternative investments. After receiving exclusive client training, I have been responsible for creating the accounting process for hundreds of alternative assets. This also required me to train my team on the processes.This role has required communication across several different teams including: several client contacts spread across their own teams, SEI's implementation team, SEI's operations team, and SEI's development team.

As a Portfolio Reporting Analyst, I had to learn how to navigate SEI Family Office Services’ proprietary platform, designed for Investment Reporting for high net worth families.With learning this platform, I was encouraged from the beginning to "question everything," as our investment operations team preached efficiencies. Utilizing multiple team members, I ask questions every day to enhance my understanding of our complex system.Some questions lead to submitting "tickets" to our development team in order to enhance our system to continue to increase efficiency.This position requires a great deal of attention to detail. In order to provide accurate reporting, our system must match custodian statements. These custodians handle investment market values, transactions, dividend/interest payments, fees, etc., and our system must mirror all activities.This requires a great deal of problem solving, when accounts do not balance to the statements. Combing through this activity, I would research any variance that may be occurring, and enter in accurate data, via transactions, journal entries, market value updates, or anything in between.

Attending Rockies Venture Institute Classes:This includes attending classes and workshops on financial understanding, exit strategy, and RVC's Pitch Academy, in which I helped critique pitches by informing entrepreneurs on what investors are listening for.In Rockies Venture Club's Funding Mastermind Sessions, I work to provide solutions to real entrepreneur dilemmas surrounding funding, strategic planning, market research, and other dilemmas.Rockies Venture Club's HyperAcceleratorI worked alongside one entrepreneur and worked to find, plan for, and solve problems surrounding his business plan, pro forma, key hires, and pitch to investors.Investor Response Reports:I attend investor forums and prepare Investor Response Reports in which I prepare a document that identifies company opportunities and risks highlighted by investors and myself. Additionally, I issue questions to the entrepreneur's team that they will answer in a document. From here, I put it all together and get the reports in the hands of the investors, so they can better understand the company and their risk mitigation strategies.Due Diligence Reports:I prepared due diligence reports for RVC's syndicate of over 200 investors. These due diligence reports include an understanding of the venture, a brief overview of the founding team, a look at the competition, an analysis of the market, a snapshot of the financials, the legal landscape, and an exit strategy. I put together the given information and outside research in order to provide a complete reportGrants:In addition, I assisted in identifying grants, sorting them into a list and prioritizing them. I also applied for The Regional Innovation Strategies: Seed Fund Support Grant through the Department of Commerce, a $300,000 grant that will assist in the costs associated with the raise, launch and operations of the Rockies Impact Fund, a $25 million fund that will invest in companies that provide economic, social, and economic benefits.

In this position, I started by tracking shipments in order to maintain efficiency and help address carrier concerns as well as developing and maintaining our strong carrier relationships. I provided several check-ins with carriers as a risk prevention measure so that the end-customer is satisfied and henceforth retained.As I learned the industry and grew as an employee, I was given the task of booking loads with carriers. This process is vital to our operations so that we can get freight transported. In my communication with the carriers, I work to increase profit margins by negotiating prices that will allow the carrier to do the load, while covering necessary expenses.
