Technological Initiation Scholarship
I participated in the development of a remote monitoring system for ruminants, focusing on the automation of ingestive behavior monitoring through surface electromyography (sEMG) of the masseter muscle, using a low-cost approach. This research was conducted within a project initiated in 2016 by my co-supervisor, Dr. Daniel Prado de Campos, and supervised by Dr. João Ari G. Hill. My responsibilities included:- Implementation of wireless communication: I used the ESP32 microcontroller and LoRa technology to establish wireless communication between devices.- Development of sampling and data transmission logic: I created the logic for sampling, pre-processing, and data transmission, using FreeRTOS to allow parallel task execution and avoid conflicts between sampling and data transmission.- Development of digital filters: I developed digital filters in Matlab and adapted them for application on devices with the ESP32 microcontroller, ensuring data quality.- Creation of a web interface: I developed a web interface for real-time visualization of the captured signals, using the Flask framework for hosting and the ChartJS library for creating and updating real-time charts.Project funded by CNPq
