I am a prospecting designer pursuing a Masters degree in Architectural Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. My passion for design started when I was a boy watching Chip Foose and the A-Team designing custom hotrods on the television series Overhaulin. After pursuing that passion throughout my years, my passion for designing custom classic cars evolved in highschool when I enrolled in the NCCER carpentry course that was being offered my junior and senior year. My experience doing carpentry work both on small projects like furniture and larger construction projects played a major role in shifting my perception from a specific discipline to a passion for design as a whole. As an aspiring architect, my passions for both history and design once again play on eachother. Doing precidents research and going on fieldtrips for my degree, I have found a strong interest in adaptive reuse projects because they allow me to feed both passions. The crafsmanship and historical value of nineteenth and early to mid twentieth century architecture intrigues my inner history buff and my keen attention to detail getting me excited about the projects. As I transition into the professional environment my goal is to unleash my passions for history and design through working on projects with historical significance which will challenge me to introduce cutting edge technologies while also maintaining and celebrating the historical value that comes with such a unique project. Also, being brought up in a small community, I would be thrilled to work with smaller projects like homes and churches allowing me to get more perosonal with the client and the design process sharing my passion and appreciation for the small town life which will push me to invest not only in the clients vision, but also in their community and neighborhood.
