The Office of Financial Aid plays an integral role in the enrollment and retention efforts of the institution and as such, the Financial Aid Counselor must have a passion for education and customer service. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Financial Aid and receiving daily work assignments from the Assistant Directors of Financial Aid, this position performs a variety of activities to administer federal, state and institutional financial aid funds.● Provide information, counseling financial aid recipients and applicants using knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations; (20%) ● Execute packaging funds from all sources using knowledge of federal needs analysis and review financial aid files by performing verification of data; (20%) ● Initiate follow up items requiring clarification or any file discrepancies; monitoring and revising financial aid awards accordingly due to changes in enrollment, EFC, housing or resources; (20%) ● Review eligibility and awards students for the HOPE Scholarship program, federal entitlement and loan programs, and institutional funds; reviewing federal aid applications and performing verification in accordance with federal policies; analyzing tax documents, leave and earning statements, and other benefit statements; (20%) ● Counsel students on the application process and Satisfactory Academic Progress policies; coordinating additional specialized aid programs such as Federal Work Study, Appeals, and internal/external scholarship programs; and conducting educational outreach sessions on financial aid for on-campus and public sectors (20%)

This position will report to the Director of Financial Aid under the Division of Enrollment Services. This position will coordinate data specialist duties including but not limited to: Daily ISIR loads, FAFSA Correction files and IRS/FAFSA Data Retrieval files into Banner, Import/Export files to Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), and send other communication plan pieces to students on a daily and weekly basis, as needed. The Technology Specialist provides backup to the Technology Coordinator when they are out of office, Additionally, the position is accountable for providing counseling and assistance to students seeking to obtain financial aid; review eligibility and award students for the HOPE Scholarship program; review federal aid applications and make federal awards to students; analyze tax documents and statements; counsel students on the application process and Satisfactory Academic Progress policies; and conduct educational outreach sessions on financial aid foron-campus and public sectors.Experience includes: SAP end of term processing, Letter Generation Creation,ISIR Load, Banner Testing,loan trouble shooting, etc.
