During the Summer, I was mainly in the lab assisting ongoing research. The research was focused around measuring gas leakages from abandoned oil wells in Western Canada. With specific parameters, I did the prepping of glass vials which would be used for sampling of methane. This involved working with high-pressure nitrogen, vacuums and acid baths. I also got some hands-on experience preforming tests and controlled releases with flow chambers.

I referee McGill intramural games throughout the semester. As this is my first time reffing, I learned very quickly to adapt to each team and game. Making quick decisions while skating up and down the ice as well as being aware of everything going on is difficult but rewarding. Some things I've greatly improved on are staying calm under pressure and taking the inevitable criticism of players. It's also helping me further develop leadership and communication skills.

Helped with the event planning crew for various large events such as:- Canada Day amusements- The McCain Family Day Event (a huge event held by the owners of McCain in New Brunswick)- The CFL Touchdown Atlantic 2023My main job was to help plan the setup and layout of our equipment as well as the actual setup. This would range anywhere from tents to bounce houses to bungee jump machines. I also helped run the events and clean them up afterwards.

I built concrete foundations for new homes all over Halifax. By learning how to use plywood panels for concrete formwork I was able to construct multiple foundations in a matter of days. I also learned how to read/use structural drawings in the process. Other than my main job I also did side projects such as flooring (insulating, leveling, and reinforcing), appliance installations, and exterior painting.

I was serving customers and ensuring their satisfaction at the movies. I prepared and served food and drink and I also did routine checkups/tune-ups of theatres in between movie times. I was given a supervisor role for my exceptional communication and understanding when dealing with customer issues such as unsatisfactory experiences. Lastly, I helped to train new employees.
