As a Country Director, Gabriel oversees in-country program implementation in four thematic areas; Healthcare, Water, Education and Agriculture. Gabriel acts like a hub connecting all the four programs of Orant Charities to ensure that the goals of Orant Charities are achieved. Prior to becoming Country Director, Gabriel worked as a Water Program Manager for Orant Charities. Gabriel’s work includes; Program Management, Administration and Facility Management, Funds management and Corporate Compliance, Leadership and Management, Community Interaction, Supervision of employees, Liaising with government, NGO’s and other stakeholders

As a Water Program manager, the core responsibility was designing and implementing water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH) programs in the communities to ensure that the community has access to clean water and are practicing good sanitation and hygiene practices. The following are some of the duties performed; • Supervision of Borehole site selection, drilling, installations & rehabilitation's• Liaised with government, NGO’s & other stakeholders during program implementation• Monitored how people use water within the impact area of the organization and improving its availability to people in villages and schools.• Installed and conducted repairs on water technologies such boreholes to make clean water available in designated villages• Mobilized community members to participate in all projects• Training community members in villages to undertake simple maintenance on water facilities in their areas of habitation.• Encouraged community ownership of water and sanitation projects.

• Supervised 17 employees (Drivers, Data Clerks, Field facilitators and Monitors)• Built community resilience to disasters to ensure food security• Mainstreamed Gender, Child Protection, Nutrition, HIV/AIDS in Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) and Humanitarian interventions• Provision of logistical support to Field monitors and Field facilitators• Management of project funds• Preparation and timely submission of Plan’s and Reports• Ensuring proper implementation of complimentary activities of the Malawi Vulnerability Assessment Committee (MVAC) response to meet project goal• Ensuring that onsite and post monitoring is substantively done in liaison with the M&E officer• Liaising with project partners and donors for smooth running of the project• Conducted campaigns and trainings in WASH and Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation -Conducted trainings to VDC’s/VCPS in Climate Change and disaster management cycle (preparedness, prevention/mitigation, response and recovery) -Facilitated food & cash distribution process -Documented Success stories

 Conducted Awareness campaigns to ensure increased access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation and hygiene and impacted about 1200 people Facilitated CLTS triggering in one village and SLTS in one Primary School Conducted Hand washing with soap training in 3 communities using local resources  Monitored construction of WASH technologies; 1 water Kiosk and 4 VIP latrines Trained Sanitation Entrepreneurs WASH committees and Parents Teacher Associations  Facilitated community needs identification in relation to Water Sanitation and Hygiene Conducted participatory monitoring and evaluation of 8 project activities Coordinated and liaised with five other organizations and 2 government departments in the Project area  Coordinated with 2 project coordinators to produce monthly and timely work plans
