I report on crimes, law enforcement and public safety issues. My job requires me to develop sources within a variety of law enforcement agencies as well as build trust with members of the community who have been affected by crimes. I also write general assignment and enterprise stories.

I reported and wrote for three daily publications (Clovis News Journal, Portales News-Tribune, Quay County Sun) and for ancillary publications including Cannon Connections and Healthy You (now Healthy Parenting). The beats I covered included local government, business and agriculture, military, crime, education and general assignments. I also produced video features for the web and helped with coding special web sections. As a page designer I helped with pagination duties and produced special sections and publications.

As an intern for the Lubock Avalanche Journal I covered local government, general news, business and crime stories and I was also assigned a monthly Sunday feature story. I also wrote a story localizing the 2006 Israeli invation of Lebanon.
