Gabriel Pecot is an Emmy award-winning journalist, filmmaker, and senior editor specializing in documentaries, multimedia, and cross-border investigative projects. He works as editorial director at JUT Media, a non-fiction multimedia production company, overseeing digital and television media journalistic projects, ensuring content cohesiveness, and upholding editorial quality. He began his career as a photographer at Diario Público in Spain in 2007. In 2011, he started working for Clarín newspaper (Argentina) in Europe and North Africa. At the end of 2012, he joined the Associated Press office in Madrid, publishing his images in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Le Monde, and Der Spiegel.In 2014 he took over the audiovisual production of the PorCausa Foundation, and in 2015, he became editor and producer of the Telesur channel in Spain.From 2015 to 2018, he makes short documentaries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America for El País (Spain). In 2021, he received the 1st ADEPA award in the Multimedia Coverage category for collaborative work on the pandemic in Argentina. In 2022, he was a finalist for the Gabo Award in the Coverage category for a collaborative, cross-border investigation of the non-lethal weapons industry in LATAM. In 2023, he received a 'News Emmy Award for Coverage of a Breaking News Story' as part of the team behind 'Ira de Putin', a special report on the Ukrainian war for Noticias Telemundo.Festivals in the UK, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, Brazil, and Mexico exhibited his documentaries.
