Senior Engineer & Contract Manager, Used Fuel Transportation
Acted as subject matter expert in the field of used nuclear fuel transportation, as well as contract administrator for transportation-related pieces of work. Conducted activities pertaining to management of Type B package technical documentation. As contract administrator, developed scopes of work, conducted bid reviews, kickoffs, project work & quality plans, and guided the development of key deliverables pertaining to NWMO's used fuel transportation system, including: - Overseeing the statistical analysis of transportation accident data across Quebec, Ontario, and New Brunswick, in order to assess the causal factors and results of historical road and rail incidents as applicable to NWMO's use case.- Management of documents aimed at fostering confidence in radioactive material transportation by showcasing the safe history of Type B package shipments, the robust regulatory framework to which they must conform, and the testing regiments that packages must undergo in order to receive certification from the relevant regulator.- Development of a multifactor routing assessment aimed at analyzing potential used fuel transportation routes between New Brunswick and Ontario, taking into account safety, security, social, and environmental GIS data in order to determine optimal and alternate routes for used nuclear fuel.- Preliminary environmental assessments looking at the scheduling and logistics of routing, considering multiple origin-destination pairs, transportation modes, and schedules, in order to estimate the potential environmental impact of transporting used nuclear fuel.

Developed specialized reports at the request of the CNSC and/or WANO showcasing the meeting of legal and contractual obligations on behalf of Bruce Power.• Implemented numerous process improvements to eliminate redundant equipment issues, reduce downtime, and optimize reliability of equipment to facilitate the technical, commercial and financial success of the plant. Maintained written documented procedures and processes pertaining to plant activities and updated said document as per Bruce Power’s change control processes.
