At K1-MET GmbH I am engaged in research on solidification modeling and product quality prediction for the continuous casting process, working directly in the Research & Development Department at voest alpine Stahl GmbH, Linz, Austria.

Metallurgical Process Engineer, responsible for technical support in operation and new developments in two modern continuous casting plants.Sucessfully Engagement in strategic projetcs, fully oriented in increasing productiveness, efficiency, product quality and cost saving. Among the resposibilities and main projects, its is possible to point out:- Investigations of process and product deviations based on operation data for avoiding/minimizing impacts on production and quality;- Continuously impromevent of caster measurements and maintenance practices for achieving major performance in surface and internal quality of steel products;- Development and application of new mold powder and tundish cover solutions for continuous casting steel grades, in cooperation with suppliers companies and universities;- Improving lifetime of refractory pieces by adjusting mould flux chemical composition;- Optimization of primary and secondary cooling of casters aiming sustaintable water consume, keeping the outstanding surface and internal quality of products;- Installation and commissioning of a market-oriented new casting thickness (200mm);- Expansion of metallurgical length of a continuous casting plant aiming to increase productivity;- Installation and commissioning of the first SRD (Single-Roll DynaGap) segments for improving the internal quality of slabs.
