Gabriel Serrão Seabra holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2011) – Magna Cum Laude Academic Distinction -, a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a post-graduation degree in Data Science from PUC-Rio. He joined Petrobras in 2012 as a Petroleum Engineer, having worked as a reservoir engineer for new discoveries until 2015. Then, he started to work and helped to create and develop the reservoir geomechanics team in the corporate area of Petrobras, also teaching reservoir geomechanics at the Petrobras corporate university. Gabriel performed geomechanics risk assessments and also led workgroups for several Petrobras assets, both onshore and offshore. Due to his notable knowledge and leadership skills, Gabriel was invited, in September 2019, to be the first manager for Digital Transformation of Reservoirs and Elevation and Flow at Petrobras. As a manager, he leads a multidisciplinary team of engineers, geoscientists, and data scientists, focused on digital technologies solutions for anticipating first oil of green fields projects (mainly Pre-salt assets) and increasing the Recovery Factor of brown fields by developing Artificial Intelligence and analytics technologies in the geoscience area, production, and reservoir management. He also leads one of the E&P strategic programs of Petrobras, called “CÉOS”, which consolidates several projects to apply digital technologies to build the best reservoir models in the industry. Gabriel is also an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). In 2019, he was granted with the Society of Petroleum Engineers Young Professional Outstanding Service Award, which recognizes his contributions and leadership to the public, the community, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the petroleum engineering profession within his region. Among other contributions, he was part of the SPE Brazil Section board since 2018, acting as secretary until 2019 and as Digital transformation Director between 2020 and 2021. In this society, he was the organizer of several activities, mainly focused on young professionals and students. For example, he organized two editions of the national student paper contest and was the sponsor in the creation of the first SPE student chapter at the State University of Rio de Janeiro.
