I am an experienced technologist and visionary director with a diverse engineering background along with vast experience, accompanied by a Ph.D. in engineering. I find, select, and engage partners for rapid technology development and product introduction. I am effective in seeking out technologies and partners, setting agreements, selecting engineering teams, and managing the execution of technology development programs and projects for new products, materials and processes. Considered by my peers as an “out of the box” thinker with acute insight for detecting unique, innovative, strategic game-changing technologies from different industries as well as from our natural environment, I attract, challenge, and manage talented engineers for technology development.I am currently Director of Technology Watch for External Technology Engagement at TechnipFMC. Prior to this role, I was Manager of the Strategic Technologies Group (STG) for the North American Technology Center (NATC) at FMC Technologies. Also, at FMC Technologies I was the Manager of New Developments within the Core Technology Group (CTG). Before joining FMC Technologies in 2005, I held positions as the Director of Engineering and as Engineering Manager for Young and Franklin and Tactair, working with turbine and aerospace controls, for over 17 years. I am a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Ph.D. in General Engineering and an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering; additionally, I hold a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from my native country of Colombia. I have authored several technical papers on pumps, valves and hydraulic actuation and hold fifteen (15) patents on valves, actuators and sensors. I am also an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Fluid Power Division, and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
