My goal is to design, build, test, teach about and bring to life the technological solutions of tomorrow. As of February 2023, I’ve embarked on the creation of a hub space for all things related to artificial intelligence (AI), as it represents a significant advance in our capabilities to progress in the most complex fields. This resulted in the creation of Freshly.ai, a place where I often reflect on the advances in AI and showcase some of its power with insights, tips, exploration and education. I then went on to create Sciox.ai, a tech product development company.————————- - - - - - - - ————————On the science side...PhD, molecular biologist with extensive experience in molecular cloning, DNA assembly (via Golden Gate Assembly and Gibson Assembly), genome engineering of model and non-model microorganisms, sequencing, evolution and bacterial genetics. Trained in qPCR, Tn-seq, handling large sets of sequencing library preps, directed evolution, DNA/protein purification, fluorescent microscopy, metabolic engineering, cell culture, microbial characterization, bioinformatics, synthetic circuit construction and bacterial chassis optimization (see publications). Extended research into biomaterials, biotherapeutics (e.g., next-generation probiotics), microbiome engineering, protein engineering, fermentation, renewable energy and biofuels. Developed strong biotechnological and synthetic biology experiences, keen to picking things apart, often, to understand them. I excel at problem-solving, experimental design, data analysis, writing, teaching, project management, communication and innovation. Postdoctoral experience with germ-free mouse models of colitis and the action of inflammatory Clostridial species and other sulfur reducing bacteria. Crohn’s disease survivor, through unconventional approaches and unique scientific understanding.
