The light-flooded venue, located in Central London was opened in 1934 as their headquarters. Today, this venue boasts a number of event spaces equipped for a variety of events from conferences, meetings, dinners and receptions to weddings and creative events, as well as three terraces which offer a rare open space with fantastic views of London.RIBA has been voted 'Top 20 Venues' by readers of the Event Magazine again and getting busier by the day. It is my duty to supervise and oversee the work of the Audio Visual department, ensuring that a first class AV service is delivered in support of the award winning venue business.

The logistics and operations of being Event Producer at The Performance Studio begins with obtaining sign-off from the Curators for the proposed event and co-planning all the aspects in detail and devising the event programme: Contacting speakers/artists, securing attendance, liaising with collaborators thereafter and agreeing the overall schedule.As well as one of the core organisers, I provide training, guiding and supervision to a small team and negotiate with suppliers/sponsors. I am mainly focused on the technical aspects of an event, so responsible for selecting contractors/suppliers to handle lighting, sound, staging, props and providing creative direction to the artists/performers needs.This extends to overseeing all of the above aspects, both in the run up to the event and on the day itself, managing the performances, ensuring the smooth running of any presentations, and supervising the recording the event as required. As it is a very AV focused role there is normally the responsibility to co-ordinate a ‘dry run’ or practice session in advance of the event and of course troubleshoot any technical glitches.I work closely with Digital/Social Media, Live Events and Marketing/PR operations to develop compelling interactive elements for live events and online presence including The Performance Studio website. I serve as an on-site moderator for social media submitted content, ensuring that only content meeting The Performance Studio standards is shown in-arena, on-line, and/or on-air. I am responsible to coordinate the creation of video and graphic assets and ensure their timely approval and implementation with curators and artists. It is my responsibility to directly engage followers and partners via social media platforms, fostering positive conversations and relationships.

Free Word works at the meeting point of literature, literacy and free expression as a catalyst for collaborations, nationally and internationally, that explore the transformative power of words. The Free Word Centre runs a programme of events and exhibitions, and provides a home to six resident organisations and over 25 associates, working across literature, literacy and free expression.My position at the Free Word Centre has been to initially research and specify appropriate equipment to improve Audio Visual facilities for the events programme, to then procure and install this equipment and provide staff training on how to operate it.

The National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of the people who have made or who are currently contributing to British history and culture. With more than two million visitors each year, the Gallery is one of the country’s most important and popular galleries.My role as Audio Visual Technician at the National Portrait Gallery has required me to research and implement a wide range of audio visual presentation systems to improve the Gallery's Audio Visual facilities and to provide technical support for events requiring Audio Visual equipment in the Ondaatje Wing Theatre and across the Gallery. This includes designing, assembling and operating lighting, projection and sound systems as well as building upon a comprehensive understanding of presentation and media production software. I work closely with event organisers to ensure the smooth running of events and a challenging public programme often involving high profile guests.

Rich Mix is a charity and social enterprise that offers live music, film, dance, theatre, comedy, spoken word and a range of creative activities for people of all ages and all cultures. My role at Rich Mix was as a key part of the technical team providing technical support for all events held in the Rich Mix venue spaces as well as supporting the public cinema programme. Ensuring the smooth presentation of the latest feature films in three cinema screens. The busy cinema programme presented on 35mm film projection on Victoria 5 Cinemeccanica projectors along side digital projection systems proved positively challenging week in week out. The venue rooms required the set up of portable Audio Visual equipment from theatre productions to live music performances and workshops.
