Gabriel Abass is the Programme Director of Policy Learning and Exchange Programme for African Development (PLEPAD), a program designed to bring together policymakers, researchers, private sector stakeholders, and other stakeholders to discuss development issues, share experiences and insights, and collaborate to develop solutions. In 2018, he was appointed as a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State in Nigeria on Policy Implementation. In this role, he supported state executives and senior government bureaucrats across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in planning and implementing social and economic policies and programmes. Gabriel is a passionate public policy and development enthusiast committed to addressing complex challenges, promoting inclusive development, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to advance social and economic equity and contribute to the betterment of societies at large. With over a decade of experience in the public and private sectors, his expertise cuts across policy and strategy development, proposal writing, project management, research and survey design, event management, administration, monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge management.
