Manufacturing Engineer
Current• Improves manufacturing process through methods of cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.• Facilitate VAVE (Value added value engineering) and LEAN projects.• Monitor statistical reporting and all quality KPI’s.• Understand and apply Root Cause Analysis (5 Why’s, FMEA, etc.).• Experience in Technical Writing Skills (SOP’s, Work Instructions, Specifications, etc.).• Work with the shop leads on day to day Continuous Improvement projects (PDCA Boards).• Work with CNC operators on understanding current work holding equipment, tooling and material handling to improve performance and reduce time delays.• Analyze current production floor plan and work towards in-lining the material flow (equipment placement and space requirements to maximize efficiency)• Ensure that project schedules are developed, and targets are reached.• Maintain the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Software and hardware (tablets/raspberry PIs).• Analyze manufacturing processes and methods and provide management with reports to better understand future requirements needed to support the overall manufacturing processes.• Review and calculate labor, material costs, and production requirements to help management make decisions.• Responsible for helping implement the use of Lean tools (Gemba Walks, 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, etc).• Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams to achieve Lean results.• Self-driven and goal oriented.• Problem solving and analysis abilities.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Perform other duties, as assigned.• Implement Safety programs per government regulations & company policy.• Conduct Incident investigations and maintain Near Miss Data.• Ensure OSHA, NIOSH and Company policy and help handle any OSHA, FRA audits andinspections.• Perform and maintain Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).• Coordinate regular Industrial Hygiene related personal & area sampling in the areas of Noise,Air and related chemical exposures.
