Gabriela pioneered the concept of combining all things pregnancy and childcare as a business model founding the Motherhood Center in 2000. After numerous assignments working as a baby nurse/doula in private homes, it became apparent to her that families were lacking the support and advice of a "village", which is very common throughout the world. Not only providing trusted childcare support but also a place that new mothers can gather, learn and share their experiences together.With her background in Pediatric Nursing and additional educational experiences in mind she worked with leading educators to develop curriculums for pregnancy and parenting education classes such as Newborn Care, Breastfeeding, Childbirth, CPR and her own creation, a Grandparents refresher class which has been a welcome addition for all.With her Physical Therapy degree and training she developed a full time pregnancy fitness and yoga studio as well as a full-time Massage/spa studio with modalities focusing on pregnancy and the childbearing years all in a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere for this special time and journey!Developing specific curriculums, protocols, procedures and training processes for a variety of childcare offerings such as Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists, Nannies, Family Assistants and Babysitters that really sets Motherhood Center's placement and staffing services apart from any other similar type businesses.Creating a truly one stop shop for expecting and new parents, offering a unique wellness center offering non- judgmental study based education while nurturing and supporting new families will always remain a top priority. Providing a high level of service, professionalism, integrity and a sincere love and care for her clients and team members. Gabriela is celebrating 24 yrs in business and 50,000 thousand happy mothers and families. It truly takes a "village" to raise a family!Gabriela is very involved in the community, serving on numerous boards and committees for non-profit organizations throughout the Houston area, and is a mentor to many.Some of her experiences in coming to America after growing up under a communist regime, growing her business and her overall life is captured in her recently published book, a memoir, titled After the Fall by Gabriela Gerhart.
