I have gained a wide-angle view over information security and privacy protection from 17 years of working in industries from software development, to academia, applied research, and Big4 consultancies. My practitioner experience helped me understand the challenges in working with other software developers to design cybersecurity tools and imagine organisational processes that use such tools. My consulting experience helped me understand how to talk to clients, understand their information security exposure and propose approaches to implement efficient data protection and security governance. My internal audit experience gave me a deep view into assessing the risks when using tools and organisational processes for cybersecurity and privacy protection. My time in academia and applied research shaped me into a critical thinker, strong technical writer, conference speaker and challenger of the state-of-the-art in distributed systems security.I am a firm believer in interdisciplinarity when tackling information security and data protection, no matter if the aim is innovation or improving practice outside of R&D. These domains are simply too broad, too quickly evolving and too pervasive for single-discipline approaches. As a seasoned project manager and researcher with a strong track record, I love to learn, transfer my knowledge, see my team evolve and deliver high-quality results.
