I advise students in developmental math level classes. I assist them in their mathematical studies, as well as counsel them on how to best further their education. I act as a general campus connection to new students, most of whom are freshmen, and need extra help in tasks such as registration, navigating campus, and being informed about on-campus resources. I assist students in all of these areas and counsel them on any personal matters that they confide in me about.Within the Math Mentor program, I also served for two years in a team lead position for other mentors. This role included reaching out to team members to check in on their mentor classes, as well as their personal well-being. As well, team leads would meet once a week to discuss our team members, how we can better help our students, and how we can connect our program and students better with the university and the resources that they offer.

This was a summer youth program run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I managed and lead a group of 30 youth on a weekly basis while creating a safe learning atmosphere. I coordinated with multiple other councilors to run activities and worked with them to ensure that the youth were physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthy.
