Testing an app that could be used by managers to keep track of employee info. and records.I chose this app because I felt like it would give me some real-world experience. I had access to its requirements much like I would at a company who hires me to do QA. I used Jira to document my test plan and test cases, and Nightwatch for automation.I like to start getting familiar with the app by reading the requirements and learning what is expected then I follow with exploratory testing before moving on to writing a test plan in Jira. The automation was used to change certain fields and view results without having to constantly create profiles to test valid and invalid criteria.Bugs found were documented in Jira and included bugs with multiple error messages being displayed with only one invalid field, another bug was allowing the user to save information that did not meet the requirements.

As a team, we tested a live app that was designed for employees of different resorts to edit resort information. We reached out to DevMountain’s student network, which includes past and present students. We got in contact with a former graduate who was working on an app that allows employees to modify information for resorts around the world.We used Jira for documenting and separating test cases, used Nightwatch to write automation tests to create new accounts, and Postman was used for API testing. Bugs found were documented in Jira and included various bugs with the entry field inputs and there was an API 500 internal server error when a contact group was published without contacts that was reported and fixed by the developer.
