Gabriel Darcin is a graphic designer, queer artist and researcher concerned with: history, theory and philosophy of design; experience and consumption; queer studies.Gabriel obtained a master's degree in communication from the Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL, 2021) after defending the thesis that the field of design develops in a disembodied way, in other words, as an activity that disregards the subjectivity of the designer. Gabriel is a Specialist in Digital Design (UEL, 2018) and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design (UEL, 2017), studying a term in Dublin Business School under the Science Without Borders scholarship (CAPS).Gabriel participated in two research projects with the aid of a scholarship (PROART in 2011-2012 and PROIC 2012-2013). He was an active member of the Student Union (2011-2013). He was awarded first place in: the “Concurso do Logotipo do Departamento de Design UEL” contest (2012); “vestibular UEL” contest (2013) with Marília Affonso and Murilo Crivellari; “Projética” contest (2013). He was an intern at the company Diode Design (2014, Dublin, Ireland) and Globalsat Group (2015-2016, Londrina, Brasil).He has produced self-portraits in watercolor, gouache, acrylic and xylography through which he investigates the indeterminacy of gender coordinates. He participated in the group exhibition: “The art of being queer” (2019, Pineapple Black Gallery, Middlesbrough, United Kingdom) and “Queerentena” (2020, Museu da Diversidade Sexual, São Paulo, Brasil).
