Provide subject matter expertise & policy support in mutual fund accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory matters impacting the JNL Funds, a series of 135+ proprietary mutual funds.Develop & maintain procedures to ensure that business units are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and lead supervision & coordination of external audit engagements of the JNL Funds.Lead monthly Accounting Policy meetings to provide an overview of the accounting regulatory landscape to JNAM senior management, and currently serve on the Board of "Unidos" - one of Jackson's Business Resource Associate Groups (BRAGs).

Executed all aspects of financial statement audits from start to finish including planning, fieldwork, and reporting on private and publicly-traded clients in the insurance, nonprofit, and employee benefit plan (EBP) industries. Reviewed quarterly and annual SEC filings (Form 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, and earnings releases), assisted ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404, and performed research using the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) Manual.I also served on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and worked with firm leadership to organize new initiatives and foster an inclusive company culture.

This was my first job in a business setting. It exposed me to work in an office environment while gaining experience directly assisting the Accounts Payable Manager in reviewing approved invoices, creating POs, remitting payments, and assisting in reconciling monthly reports.

Managed a work crew of five (5) individuals to rehabilitate and repair real estate properties.
