Principal seismologist with over 15 years of experience in the field of engineering seismology and earthquake engineering. G. Ameri is an expert in ground motion characterization and has an extensive experience in the development of empirical ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs), in the simulation of earthquake ground motions using advanced numerical tools, in the characterization of finite-fault effects (e.g., directivity) and in the analysis of earthquake records to retrieve source and site parameters. G. Ameri has been involved in several probabilistic seismic hazard assessment (PSHA) projects in France and abroad including site characterization for nuclear power plants and other critical facilities applying methodologies consistent with the IAEA SSG-9 safety guide and with SSHAC recommendations. Conducted works include earthquake catalog compilation, hazard calculations for rock and soil sites, soil response evaluation via empirical and numerical approaches, GMPEs development and host-to-target adjustment, GMPEs testing using recorded data, disaggregation of seismic hazard and determination of controlling earthquakes, sensitivity studies, implementation of CAV filtering, development of uniform hazard response spectra (UHS) and application of partially non-ergodic PSHA (single-station sigma approach). G. Ameri is author of over 25 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
