Assistant Professor in Criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento (Italy).

Research collaborator to the activities and projects of the Centre of Security and Crime Sciences (CCSC - Centro di Scienze della Sicurezza e della Criminalità), a joint research centre of the University of Trento and the University of Verona (Italy). The CSSC takes a strongly inter/multi-disciplinary approach (e.g., criminology and social sciences, law, computer science, mathematics, statistics, psychology and cognitive sciences, medicine, etc.) to security issues and their global challenges. In particular, it focuses on conducting 1) complex, interdisciplinary, applied research projects at the national and international levels and 2) high-level training courses for graduate students and professionals on security issues and their challenges in a global society. The members of the CSSC are professors and researchers from the two universities who are experts in the field from their respective domains.

Member of the research group “eCrime - ICT, law & criminology” (www.ecrime.unitn.it) at the Deparment “Faculty of Law” of the University of Trento (Italy). eCrime is the first research group on digital criminology: it combines different scientific disciplines (criminology, law, statistics, information science, etc.) to conduct applied research on crime and security (i.e. on. deviance and crime, offenders, victims, social reaction to deviance and crime, sources of information on deviance and crime, tools and methods of criminological research) in the digital society. The research group is characterised by collaborations on a national, EU and international level. In this context, I have taken part (with different roles) in various complex research groups, often in the framework of EU research projects. For almost 10 years, I have been dealing with urban security, crime digitalisation of crime, organized crime/digital organized crime, online criminal markets, counterfeiting, migration and crime, with special regard to the smuggling of migrants and asylum seekers and the trafficking of persons.

Since December 2016, partner and member of the board of Intellegit s.r.l., the startup on security of the University of Trento (from February 2019 to May 2020: legal representative). Intellegit's solutions and products are based on the methodologies and know-how resulting from some of the eCrime research projects. The University was a partner until 2020.
