As the Data Engineering Manager within the Data Products organization, I oversee the Engineering Data Platform in VZ Connect, a fully-fledged AWS-powered infrastructure. Our data strategy is anchored on two key pillars:Data Democratization: We strive to empower our internal data citizens – scientists, analysts, and engineers – with seamless and secure access to reliable data, enabling them to make informed decisions.Data Mesh: This approach empowers teams to manage their own data and seamlessly share data products across the organization, eliminating the constraints of a centralized data team and infrastructure.My responsibilities encompass defining the data roadmap, collaborating with stakeholders and product managers to prioritize initiatives, approving technical solutions proposed by architects, managing the team budget, and nurturing relationships with external vendors and contractors. Additionally, I champion Lean/Kanban methodologies to ensure efficient project management and continuous delivery.

I am TPM for the Data Products team in VZC: 70 people based in Florence, Dublin, Atlanta and Christchurch composed of Data scientists, engineers, analysts and SW developers. Main activities of the team are AI/ML research and development, Business intelligence and management of the company Data Lake and DWH platform.My role across the entire org is to coordinate the team program, define the roadmap in agreement with our Product team and external stakeholders, help our squads in their daily work removing blocks, ensure the Lean and Kanban process adoption in the group, plan and control the annual team budget: monitoring our AWS cloud infrastructure and contracted services spend.I'm Lean/Kanban trainer for new joiners in the office of Florence.

Starting from 2018 I lead the Content Delivery area, composed by 25 people based in 3 different countries: Italy, Spain, France.This group is organized in four different teams that are in charge of the following activities:Delivery and quality assurance for Content services (mobile webapps with direct carrier billing payment method) according to a Biz Roadmap.Test automation platform design and development to support QA activities.Development and maintenance of some core components in the carrier billing payments system of the Content services biz line.Development of the CRM panel and Self Care tool for the Content services.Service Management and revenue assurance activities for the Payment platform.I'm involved in the weekly planning of the biz global roadmap for the delivery of Docomo Digital Content services.In 2016/2017 I was also responsible for the creation and maintenance of the company data lake on Hadoop framework.In 2017 I was the program manager of the Delivery optimization program with the objective to speed-up our delivery process through the automation of our technological ecosystem and I drove a program of tech transformation involving the key managers of the IT department to prepare the technological offer of the Company for the organizational and business changes in 2018.

I lead a team composed by architects, developers and operationals, we support in terms of planning and development the rollout process of webapps for smartphones in more than 20 countries. My main activities concern the scheduling of the rollouts roadmap with Biz and the other tech teams involved, planning internal development projects, mainly in two technologies: Java and Php.We work with a Kanban approach.

I coordinate the development activities of a group of consultants in the Ecosystem&Api team. Following the roadmap given by the team project manager, I organize and support the work of the developers in php and perl technologies, promote the code to the QA phase and follow the release process.
