Gabriel John D. Email and Phone Number
I am a postdoctoral researcher at St. Michael's Hospital and the University of Toronto leveraging advanced quantitative methods to examine health disparities through an intersectional lens. My research focuses on how factors like sexual orientation, gender identity, neighborhood access to material resources, race/ethnicity, and intimate partner violence shape health outcomes.I specialize in applying causal inference techniques, like propensity score matching, to complex health questions using linked administrative data from sources such as the NACRS, DAD, OHIP, and datasets housed at Statistics Canada Research Data Centres (RDCs). I have extensive experience efficiently managing and analyzing survey data like the CCHS, SSPPS, and GSS using Stata, SAS, Python, and R.Through my RDC work, I have developed expertise navigating the unique challenges of complex survey data, including survey design, data linkage, and disclosure control issues. This positions me to conduct rigorous research using some of Canada's most comprehensive social and health data resources. My findings have been published in journals like Social Science & Medicine, American Journal of Psychiatry, and BMC Public Health. I have also presented at major conferences. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a racialized immigrant, I bring a unique perspective to advancing equity in research. I am passionate about producing policy-relevant evidence to improve health outcomes for historically marginalized populations.I am seeking an independent researcher position with RDC data access and tri-council grant eligibility. I am also open to consulting on projects where my expertise in machine learning, causal inference, large population-based surveys, and linked health administrative data could add value. To discuss potential opportunities or book a discovery call, please email me at gabrieljdusing@gmail.com.Specialties: Causal Inference | Machine Learning | Structural Equation Modeling | Multilevel Modeling | Survival Analysis | Intersectional Analysis | Linked Administrative Data
