I am currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minor in Criminal Justice at the University of Alaska Fairbanks with the hopes of becoming an auditor. To prepare for that goal, I have been in many business and accounting courses throughout my college career and have so far learned how to prepare the main financial statements. I will continue to increase my knowledge about specific areas of accounting, specifically analysis of accounting information, hopefully for the rest of my career, but mainly until 2025 when I will graduate. While I have not yet had extensive experience within the accounting industry, I have had several jobs which have taught me many of the soft skills needed, including time management, organization, and problem solving. I am currently working as an accounting intern with Ever.Ag where I am gaining a more in-depth knowledge of accounting practices.In addition, I had the opportunity to participate in a pre-internship at JPMorgan Chase and Co. where I spent a semester learning about recruitment processes and how to network successfully. I hope that the skills that I have learned and will continue learning will prepare me for a job within the accounting industry as an auditor.
