I am a 7th grade math and science teacher at HTMNC in San Marcos, CA. I focus on crafting authentic, real-world educational experiences through project-based learning. I am working towards my California Teaching Credential through the High Tech High District Intern Program. I have an MS in Natural Science Education degree with a concurrent Environment and Natural Resources major at the University of Wyoming. My first year of my Masters was in a non-traditional place-based education graduate program through Teton Science Schools, intimately studying the ecology of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and growing my skills as an educator. Prior to starting grad school, I spent a year ocean lifeguarding and teaching for a beach education program out of Auckland, New Zealand. I completed my undergraduate degree at Whitman College, earning my BA in Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology with a Minor in Psychology. My work experience throughout undergrad included ocean lifeguarding, coordinating trips for the outdoor program, and researching in Washington State University's Department of Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience. Additionally, I have held leadership positions at Whitman, including Varsity Swim Captain and Student Athletic Advisory Committee President.
