At Eastman, the corporate strategy role can be thought of as a mix of marketing strategy, behavioral economics, corporate strategy, and change management. Strategy analysts, managers, and interns are analogous to internal consultants. We assist businesses in Eastman frame up and make decisions relating to mergers, acquisitions, and divestments; portfolio synergies; customer decision mapping; segmentation; and value proposition development.

During my internship at Sonoco I was able to formalize a process of identifying new catalogs through investigation of mass purchasing data increasing productivity while also reducing order cycle time. I also designed a monthly dashboard summarizing divisional information providing user visibility into in-compliances. I also had the opportunity to review the companies current Supplier Standards to update and consolidate in line with industry best examples.

I collaborated on Purchase Order document formation, distribution, and close out; on average 15 daily. I was able to maintain a large filing system with the assistance of Co-workers. I supported my fellow colleagues with new fiscal year preparation and roll over helping to close out over 200 Purchase Orders I also reanalyzed and organized 30 Purchase Card Statement Audits resulting in concise relevant documents as a short project.

I led 2-weekend groups of incoming freshman through team building exercises and activities. I facilitated conversations pertaining to diversity and inclusion while mentored students regarding future college experiences. I established sure contact with 17 incoming freshmen offering access to campus and personal resources.
