I recognize that it can be difficult and even nerve-racking to come to a psychologist's office and speak with a stranger about intimate, personal events in our lives. It distresses me that many times people suffer with problems because they believe it is too large, too small, unimportant or that nothing can be done to change a situation. Whether a person is going through a major traumatic life event or simply needs someone to talk to about a situation that is occurring in life, no problem is too big or too small. It is important to work through the issues of our lives, especially if it is causing depression, anxiety or discomfort in any way. Acknowledging this, I approach each and every person who comes in to meet with me with the respect they deserve as a special individual with unique experiences. While relying on my prior skills as a court reporter, I listen to every word looking for ways I can help an individual enjoy life to the fullest and reach full potential. I have a positive outlook and can typically provide a calming effect for even what appears to be the most tumultuous of circumstances.

Licensed Clinical PsychologistGabrielle P. Hackett, Psy.D., Llc Nov 2016 - PresentVero Beach And Fort Lauderdale, FloridaNow that I have ventured out to form my own individual private practice, I feel free to provide services that are client-centered, unique to the individual and focused solely on the client coming in to see me. Although I treat individuals with traumatic pasts, depression, anxiety, and a variety of other conditions, I continue to describe myself as a general practitioner so that I may never have to only focus on one form of treatment or condition. I believe this makes me better able to address all of the topics a person may wish to discuss rather than causing disruptions by referring clients.

Licensed PsychologistTms Provider Services Of America Apr 2016 - Nov 2016Fort Lauderdale And Vero Beach, FlI prefer to think of myself as a general practitioner and as a result, have attempted to avoid focusing on one specific area or one type of mental health problem. As life is a continuous process, what an individual comes in for may not be the underlying problem and typically other issues come up that need to be discussed. As a general practitioner, I believe I am well-equipped to address those topics without having to refer a client, causing that person to start all over again and I feel better able to address a person's needs as he or she comes to my office.
