Now that I have ventured out to form my own individual private practice, I feel free to provide services that are client-centered, unique to the individual and focused solely on the client coming in to see me. Although I treat individuals with traumatic pasts, depression, anxiety, and a variety of other conditions, I continue to describe myself as a general practitioner so that I may never have to only focus on one form of treatment or condition. I believe this makes me better able to address all of the topics a person may wish to discuss rather than causing disruptions by referring clients.

I prefer to think of myself as a general practitioner and as a result, have attempted to avoid focusing on one specific area or one type of mental health problem. As life is a continuous process, what an individual comes in for may not be the underlying problem and typically other issues come up that need to be discussed. As a general practitioner, I believe I am well-equipped to address those topics without having to refer a client, causing that person to start all over again and I feel better able to address a person's needs as he or she comes to my office.
